The Authority of the Amazon UN

Disturbing thoughts provoked by the documents circulating concerning the approaching Amazon Synod: I truly hope I am incorrect in my interpretation of what I am reading. It would be quite unfortunate if the UN came away with the authority of a magisterium. May we have the discernment of those Bereans who had so studied the Holy Scripture that they may be approved (cf. 2 Tim. 2:15). After all St Paul himself praised them for such adherence to the authentic Apostolic teaching. May it be so for us, and especially for our shepherds.
