You never know when you enter the sanctuary of the woods what you will encounter. Today it was two snapping turtles. The one breast-stroked from one end of Hawthorn Pond to the other at the edge of the marsh grass in the still black water. When they were close enough...well let's just say it was quite a quick courtship.

I am a writer currently working on novels and poetry. Previously I have worked in the Selway Bitteroot Wilderness as a fire fighter and on trails, worked as an editor for a book company, and taught Latin and Literature at a Christian School. Two years ago I went to Poland to teach English at a church camp in Czarna Gora (winter) and in Wladyslawowo (summer). It is quite a beatiful country (piekny Kraj).
