Christmas Wish

At this festive time of year is it just me or do many of us not wish to be inserted into a Dickensonian drama? Do we not wish to be able to have Christmas dinner with the likes of the Cratchits, to be able to hoist Tiny Tim upon one's shoulder's to gaze in a shop window, to hear the carolers singing God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, to even be visited by the three Spirits and be managed out of Marley's mundane world of mammon?
