Sleep Walking in this World

Are we sleep walking through this world? Perhaps we have to walk through life somewhat tranquilized. Otherwise, would not the amperage of beauty short-circuit us? Thank you, Lord, that you scorched scarlet in the leaves of oak, that you put the revelry of red in an apple, that you rumpled the quilt of ocean with flakes of moon at night and gemmed it with white hot diamonds during day, that you limited the loveliness of the color-current down enough that our eyes would not break their filaments with the fairness of your earth.
