Cold has its own beauty

Cold has its own beauty. The crisp stars, the crunch of snow, the ubiquity of the clean white shavings of ice, the lighted windows, the smell of woodsmoke drifting lazily out of chimneys, the taste of frigidity, the realization you have of your own hot blood that runs through you at the obedience of an amazing thermostat...and to think God could've made winter dull and uneventful. But he gave us the thrill of snow and the beauty of cold.
